"Pendulum" is an independent film funded by a company based in England that me and another person on my university course are currently working on outside of university.
It is a short film about a couple undergoing relationship problems, and try to spruce up their relationship by going on a holiday where they go mountain climbing and have an accident.
In this film, I am the assistant director. My job is to ensure that everybody on set is doing their job correctly and also to make sure the actor's are okay, which is especially important in this film as we are outside on top of a mountain where it gets extremely cold.
The film is not yet finished as the actor's attend university in London and it is being filmed in Llangollen, the final shoot is in August and the finished film should be complete in December.
The film will then be entered in film festivals world wide and I will be credited as the assistant director, and I will be using it in my portfolio.

FFRESH FILM FESTIVAL
Ffresh festival was a week devoted to showing films made by students all over Wales, and also lectures given by guest lecturers.
The Mill
The Mill is a company who do special effects in TV shows and TV adverts. They gave a lecture about the processes they went through to make one of their most well known adverts they made for the car company: "KIA".
They told us about the difficulties they had when making it, i.e. the different shaped keys on the wall, the lighting on the car and the poor quality of communication between them and KIA. I enjoyed this lecture as it demonstrated how The Mill overcame any issues they had and made a very unique advert.
Bedroom Live
Bedroom Live is a YouTube series funded by Channel 4 where local bands play their songs to an audience from a bedroom. The team who film the show didn't give a lecture, but instead set up a fake bedroom and filmed some bands from the TV studio in Glyndwr.
This is a song that the band "Golden Fable" performed. This was a real pleasure to watch being filmed as the vibe being set by the small film crew and the bands that were playing was very welcoming.
Jessika Deans - Caia Park Documentary
Jessika Deans is a television production and technology student on her second year, and is also a close and personal friend of mine. She filmed and edited a documentary about the deformation of Caia Park in Wrexham and presented it to an audience during Ffresh week. The documentary was very in depth and really captured the essence of how downhill Caia Park's community has gone over the past 10 years. She interviewed members of the community and Wrexham's M.P; Ian Lucas. She asked all the right questions and gathered valuable information.
I thoroughly enjoyed watching her documentary as it was interesting, it demonstrated what she is capable of and she got the praised she deserved for it.

CREATIVE FUTURES WEEK: Jason Davitt
Creative futures week took place in February. It was a week devoted to lectures given by guest lectures talking about their careers and how their experiences could help the creative media students.
One lecture that stood out for me in particular was a lecture given by lecturer "Jason Davitt". Jason is an independent film maker who told his story of how he started his career with no qualifications and no experience of film making, until he decided to write his own script and film with no budget and just his family and friends as actors, and now he receives funding by other independent film making companies to make more films.
During his lecture, he showed us the processes he took when making his latest film via a DVD presentation. He demonstrated the importance of script writing and story boarding a film, and the importance of things during filming; like lighting and sound quality. This information was of great value to me as I intend to work in film in the future.
At the end of the lecture he gave the student's who attended his contact telephone number to get in touch with him for work experience. I have recently contacted him and he has confirmed that he will give me work experience.
